T-Pain created his own unique, signature sound using auto-tune and his latest album Thr33 Ringz debuts at #4 on Billboard album sales chart. Pain recently told DJ Skee in an interview that other artists like ron Browz used the auto-tune effect very poorly. What's more T-Pain thinks that all biters of his concept should be paying royalties for its use.
He may have a point too because Diddy did a collaboration with Pain and paid him for using the auto-tune. Pain said that Diddy signed the papers and gave him a point on his album for using auto-tune - Diddy revealed it on "total finale live". Pain feels that if he can do this with Diddy then everybody else better be ready to do the same.
Pain also worked with his friend Kanye West's 808's and Heartbreak and wrote and produced on Diddy's album and was somewhat surprised that he got extra royalties for something that he just brought back to the forefront. It is good to see all these rappers working together in harmony, recognizing each other's work as well as including some Euro style, electronica mixed with hip hop and rap.
